Yes, and that is what the ring, pendant and earring builders are for. Choose a loose stone first and the builder will only offer you settings whose seat matches that stone's actual millimeter measurements, then render the finished piece with your stone in it before you order. Buying a finished piece from this page is the other route: the stone is already chosen and set.

It is the finished piece in the metal you have selected, stone included. Nothing is added at checkout. Prices move with the metal — platinum and 18K weigh more and cost more than 14K — so the figure updates as you change the option rather than surprising you later.

Chemically and optically, very little — a lab-grown sapphire is a sapphire. The difference is how it formed and what it costs: natural stones grew underground over geological time and are priced on rarity, while lab-grown stones form in a controlled environment and generally cost less for comparable size and quality. Every piece states which it is, and Formation is a filter on every jewelry page.

Color is mostly taste, but durability is not. Platinum is the densest and holds a stone most securely, and it wears rather than scratches away. White gold is plated with rhodium and needs re-plating every few years to stay bright. Yellow and rose gold need neither. For an everyday ring with a soft stone, platinum or 14K is the safer setting.

Not automatically — a pendant and its chain are two separate pieces, and the right chain depends on the pendant's bail. Each pendant page shows only the chains that actually fit it: matching karat and color, a width that passes through the bail, and nothing hollow under a heavy pendant. Add one there and it arrives with the pendant.

Usually, but it depends on the design. A plain or partly-set band resizes easily. A full eternity band, or anything with stones set all the way round the shank, cannot be resized without remaking it — so on those the size you order is the size you keep. Each product page says which it is; if you are unsure of the finger size, ask us before ordering rather than after.

Those are the plain-metal designs — chains, plain bands, textured cuffs — and there are 91 of them. They appear under "No stone" in the gemstone rail rather than being hidden, because a plain gold chain is a real thing people come here for, not a piece with something missing.
