Oval-Cut

An oval is an outline, not a recipe. Faceted as a brilliant it sparkles like a round drawn long; it is also what cutters reach for when polishing a cabochon dome, and about a quarter of the ovals here are exactly that. Either way there is no point or corner to guard, so it needs no V-prong or protective tip. Ratio is the real choice: 1.35 to 1.45 stays soft.
