Lozenge-Cut

A lozenge is a rhombus: four equal sides, two sharp points, cut in steps. It is not a center stone, it is a building block — the shape Deco jewelers used for chevrons, angled flankers and borders that meet without a gap. Points that sharp need guarding, so lozenges are usually bezeled or channel-set rather than prong-held.

Built into a pattern, exact dimensions do the work: standard millimeter sizing lets one seat in a channel or line up flush beside a larger stone.
