A step cut, not a brilliant. Its facets run as long parallel planes in tiers, so an emerald cut flashes broadly — a hall of mirrors opening and closing — where a brilliant sparkles. The wide table leaves the stone on open view, hiding nothing, so evenness of color is the first thing to read here, long before facets.
